The Mission

Team Hickory Basketball Club (THBC) is a non-profit travel basketball organization based out of Hickory, North Carolina. Our goals are to use the game of basketball to build student-athletes of character, who participate in community service to make a difference in the local community, and to obtain high education.

Peyton Caldwell of Freedom High School had a weekend at Prep Girls Hoops: Peach Games. Leading the 17u Division with 23.8 points per game, while shooting 88% from the free throw line.

Team Hickory Cares was established as a community service project in 2012. Team Hickory Cares is a nonprofit organization built to serve the greater Hickory Metro Area, under the direction of Coach Jaymie Rowe.

At Team Hickory Cares - we enable kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges through community service involvement. By seamlessly integrating athletics with the life skills curriculum, we create learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids carry to everything they do.

To us, the most important part of our mission is to serve the Hickory Metro Area.

Besides our regular monthly contributions to community initiatives, we have been able to give a Five Hundred Dollar educational scholarship to a local student, purchasing new uniforms for the Dee Dee Dawkins All Star Teams, sponsoring a Team Hickory Alum through real estate school, purchase laptops for Team Hickory Alums currently in college, and purchased a new Xbox for the Kris Lang Sports Complex after the gym was broken into & all the consoles were stolen for the children the program serves.

If you would like to contribute please use the following sources below; this fundraiser last through May 18th, 2024 as we are preparing contributions for summer programs as the school year is ending.

All contributions go to the Team Hickory Cares Foundation, & if receipts and or letterheads are need for contributions they will be provide with our EIN upon request.

My most fond memory is when we were down 30 going into halftime and we came back and ended up winning by 7 points.
